This ring is there to represent life. The swiss-blue topaz are the bad events. Whereas, the light-green peridot are the good events. The band of silver and diamonds represent hope and renewal, bringing the bad, the ugly, and the good together.

INT. DARKNESS

TRISTAN (V.O)

Are you serious? People are NOT gonna believe a word we say.

ABIGAIL (V.O)

Aw, come on. Just turn the stupid camera on.

TRISTAN (V.O, sarcastically)

Oh, okay. Hello strangers, let me tell you about this curse my boyfriend had, which almost got me, and a talking fox, killed.

ABIGAIL (V.O)

Shut up! You’re also gonna be telling the story

 TRISTAN (V.O)

Fine. Let’s get this over with.

FADE IN

INT. TRISTAN’S BEDROOM – PRESENT DAY

A camera switches on, and TRISTAN (17), a tall, good-looking teenager sits down on a chair, adjusting the camera, to how ABIGAIL (17), a pretty girl, who is standing a few feet away in the right, likes it.

ABIGAIL

A little bit to to the left, or the right, or whatever makes your face not so ginormous.

TRISTAN rolls his eyes, and the camera zooms out a bit. TRISTAN looks back at ABIGAIL.

TRISTAN

How do I begin this…right?

 ABIGAIL

Give an introduction of yourself, and then your story? I thought you already knew that.

Nodding, TRISTAN turns back to the camera and ABIGAIL walks away from the screen to the right. TRISTAN, then speaks directly to the camera.

TRISTAN

Hello, I’m Tristan Doven, and the girl you just saw is Abigail Landers, my girlfriend. We’re both eighteen years old, with scholarships to Berkeley, and a story. A story of how I, for sixteen years was cursed to die at my seventeenth birthday, and how we, along with a talking fox, nearly freakin’ died multiple times, trying to lift it at sixteen. I mean, it’s not a sob story that will bring you to tears or disgust you. More of a mix of adventure, and a survival story. Fantasy, unfortunately was involved. So, we’ll start with the beginning-how Abigail and I got ourselves into a quest to find the mysterious Amity potion.

EXT. THE HIGH SCHOOL – DAY

The marquee of the school is shown and the camera slowly descends to the ground, and when the doors and the street are shown, TRISTAN, walks from the right towards the doors, inside the school.

INT. THE SCHOOL HALLWAY – DAY

TRISTAN walks down the hallway in a normal pace.

TRISTAN (V.O)

I was, really, a typical sixteen-year-old. 5’8, good at algebra, bad at ELA, own a car-which is a Toyota, by the way. What could I say? Sounds normal, right?

INT. A CLASSROOM – DAY

TRISTAN is writing something in his notebook on his desk. The dismissal bell rings and TRISTAN gets his stuff and leaves the classroom with his classmates.

TRISTAN (V.O)

But, what if I told you I was cursed?

INT. THE SCHOOL CAFETERIA – DAY

TRISTAN laughs among his classmates, while getting his lunch.

TRISTAN (V.O)

This is something not many people knew. It was better kept hidden between me and my family.

After Tristan gets his card scanned by the supervisor, he starts to leave the counter, when he noticed one of his classmates, JAIME (17), an ordinary teenager, get hit by a small loaf of bread. He looks and sees MANDY (17), a teenager with a crazy look in her eyes, get another loaf of bread.

MANDY

Breadsup, people!

JAIME

Oh no, you don’t!

MANDY throws her loaf to JAIME and they repeatedly throw loaves, with all hell breaking loose. The lunch ladies started yelling at them to stop, and the students get their iPhones out and videotape the scenario, shouting, ” Fight! Fight!”. All this before the principal, MS. JACODA (48), a conservative-looking lady, furiously walks in.

MS. JACODA

ENOUGH!!!!!

MANDY and JAIME stop throwing bread and walk to the principal, awaiting punishment. TRISTAN walks to the table, and starts walking to a table, and begins eating.

TRISTAN (V.O)

I was cursed to die at the midnight of my seventeenth birthday.

INT. THE SUBURB – DAY

TRISTAN walks in the street home from school.

TRISTAN (V.O)

I only got a month left ’till my due date, and I’m trying to make each day count.

TRISTAN looks at his at his right forearm, the date 8/21/2017, forms, like something blurry becoming clear, in his forearm. Three seconds later, it disappears like a super-quick healing of a bruise. His grandmother, MARIE-GRACE (88), a tall, calm-under-fire elder comes out of their house.

MARIE-GRACE

Tristan, come in. I’ve got my tea and something to show you.

TRISTAN(V.O.)

Call me pathetic, but I drink tea everyday. At least I don’t have to raise my pinkie doing so. Sometimes I wonder if she spiked it, but that sounds stupid. She wouldn’t, and I would know if she did.

TRISTAN

Coming, Marie-Grace.

TRISTAN looks up from his forearm, and walk towards his house.

ABIGAIL (V.O)

You call your grandmother Marie-Grace?

INT. TRISTAN’S BEDROOM – PRESENT DAY

TRISTAN stops narrating for now, looks at the right where ABIGAIL is-though not shown at the screen-to explain things to her.

TRISTAN

Yes, I call my grandmother Marie-Grace, but only when in private and around close family members. It’s because she doesn’t like to reminded that she’s old.

ABIGAIL (V.O)

When did you learn to call her that?

TRISTAN

When I first came to her home at five years old.

EXT. MARIE-GRACE’S HOME – DAY

MARIE-GRACE (72) a lady who looks like she’s in her fifties, waits just outside her house, when a car parks at the street near her house. The car door opens, and AUNT COSETTE (32), a prissy-looking lady who looks like she’s in her twenties, comes out of the taxi, holding the hand of YOUNG TRISTAN (5), an adorable little kid, holding a wheeled suitcase. AUNT COSETTE brushes dust off herself, and walks towards MARIE-GRACE. She stops near her, and smiles a fake smile.

AUNT COSETTE

Oh, Mother. Thank you for understanding my situation. You see, I’m in a business that takes loads of time off of taking care of a…poor little dependent…

MARIE-GRACE

Well?

AUNT COSETTE

…kid. A poor little dependent kid.

MARIE-GRACE didn’t seem fazed about AUNT COSETTE’S excuse. She bends down slowly to look at YOUNG TRISTAN, who was frowning in response of what AUNT COSETTE said.

MARIE-GRACE

Now I believe, that you and I feel the same way about her. Do we?

YOUNG TRISTAN

Maybe. I don’t like Aunt Coffin at all.

MARIE-GRACE gives a small smile to YOUNG TRISTAN, while AUNT COSETTE, insulted, pushes YOUNG TRISTAN harshly to MARIE-GRACE.

AUNT COSETTE

Just take care of that!

AUNT COSETTE storms back into her car, closes the car door, and drives away, leaving MARIE-GRACE glaring. MARIE-GRACE then retains her calm expression, and stands up, holding YOUNG TRISTAN’S hand.YOUNG TRISTAN looks up at MARIE-GRACE.

YOUNG TRISTAN

So I’ll be with you, Grandma?

MARIE-GRACE

Yes, my dear. But please, when in private, and around family members, call me Marie-Grace, not Grandma. The exceptions are in public and in front of your friends.

YOUNG TRISTAN

Why?

MARIE-GRACE

I just want to feel young again.

YOUNG TRISTAN hesitates, and lets the idea sink into his head, and nods.

INT. TRISTAN’S BEDROOM – PRESENT DAY

TRISTAN finishes his story, waiting for ABIGAIL to respond.

ABIGAIL (V.O)

Poor lady. Should’ve had plastic surgery while she still could.

TRISTAN shakes his head in disbelief, and looks back at the camera.

TRISTAN

Let’s continue.

INT. FOYER – DAY

The room is a rotunda with a small, yet very bright chandelier on top, with a few couches here and there. Three dark-brown doors are at the other side of the front doors. TRISTAN puts his backpack on the nearest couch. MARIE-GRACE walks to the door in the middle that leads to a meeting room and beckons him to join her. When they get to the meeting room, three mugs full of steaming hot coffee-full of milk and sugar-wait for them in a small round table that’s with three chairs. TRISTAN looks confused for the reason for a third cup as they sit down to talk.

TRISTAN

Is there someone visiting our house?

MARIE-GRACE

Yes, Tristan. And we will discuss important matters with that person.

TRISTAN nods, though looking more confused.

TRISTAN

Who?

The doorbell rings, and the two look at the door. TRISTAN stands up. The doorbell rings again.

TRISTAN

I’ll go get it.

MARIE-GRACE

Oh. She has arrived.

TRISTAN ran, opened the door, ran past the foyer to open the door, to find ABIGAIL (16) a bit petite girl with a backpack, at the entrance. She grins a friendly grin.

ABIGAIL

Hello, I’m Abigail Landers, the new girl in your neighborhood. Is this Marie-Grace Doven’s house?

MARIE-GRACE (V.O)

Yes, Miss Landers. You’re in the right place.

TRISTAN looks back to find MARIE-GRACE standing a few feet away from him.

MARIE-GRACE

Come in.

ABIGAIL comes in, and the trio walks past the foyer to the meeting room. In there, the orange walls had changed to a realistic scene of the wooden walls decorated with dozens of floating candles filling the room with golden light. ABIGAIL looks around in awe and admiration.

ABIGAIL

This is some weird room. But real cool.

TRISTAN

Grandma likes to change the look of these walls. So, she has a remote control that controls what the scene would be, and her mood controls how the scene looks.

ABIGAIL

From calm, to festive, to creepy?

TRISTAN

Something like that.

MARIE-GRACE

Now, let’s sit down to have a swig of coffee and chat.

TRISTAN and ABIGAIL both sit down in chairs.

MARIE-GRACE

Now Abigail, it’s time me and my grandson, Tristan…

TRISTAN nods in recognition, and shyly smiles.

MARIE-GRACE

…to talk about the unfortunate curse he has.

TRISTAN looks shocked, that MARIE-GRACE would talk of something so private. ABIGAIL. ABIGAIL, in contrast, looks calm about it.

ABIGAIL

Oh, you mean the one in which he won’t live past his seventeenth birthday?

TRISTAN(bewildered)

Excuse me, Marie-Grace?

MARIE-GRACE

Is there something wrong?

TRISTAN

You told Abigail, a perfect stranger, about my curse?!!!

The flames on the candles in the room turn from golden to light blue, as a result of MARIE-GRACE being a little hurt and filled with determination.

MARIE-GRACE

Of course, Tristan. I know about the rule we had to keep it secret, but you are running out of time, and she has every right to know.

INT. TRISTAN’S BEDROOM – PRESENT DAY

TRISTAN

Try to understand my situation. It’s that, for a long time, for as long as I can remember, there was a rule that was drilled constantly into my head, and it was, to never ever, tell anyone about the curse at all. And, for a long time, my grandma and I had followed that rule indefinitely…until now.

INT. THE MEETING ROOM – DAY

ABIGAIL

Tristan, yesterday, your grandma came into my house. She looked completely frightened, like she was gonna have a heart attack or something.

INT. TRISTAN’S BEDROOM – PRESENT DAY

ABIGAIL, this time, is sitting where TRISTAN used to be. TRISTAN is behind the camera, though not shown at the moment.

ABIGAIL

It was true, she was really frightened, storming trough my door, forcing me down a chair, and sternly telling me to listen. I sat down, wondering what to do. It was run and call 911, or sit and let the lady talk. Obviously I decided the latter.

TRISTAN (V.O)

Is that all?

ABIGAIL

Nah, let me continue this.

INT. MARIE-GRACE’S MEETING ROOM – DAY

ABIGAIL

So, all I’m saying, is that your grandma thinks —

MARIE-GRACE

Not think, Abigail. KNOW! I know that it’s time for me to tell you something.

TRISTAN

What is it?

MARIE-GRACE

I have known a way to lift your curse.

TRISTAN and ABIGAIL lean in a bit closer to MARIE-GRACE to find out what it is, as suspense builds, making the candle lights red.

MARIE-GRACE

It’s called the Amity potion.

Confusion replaces the suspense. TRISTAN and ABIGAIL look at each other, wondering what the heck MARIE-GRACE was talking about.

ABIGAIL

What’s an Amity potion?

MARIE-GRACE doesn’t really understand their lack of knowledge of it.

MARIE-GRACE

You mean, you don’t…

TRISTAN shakes his head, telling her that they don’t know what it is. MARIE-GRACE suddenly understands and laughs a bit, and the red lights turn to bright yellow, for friendliness.

 MARIE-GRACE

Well, an Amity potion is a healing potion, that is revealed in every blue moon, an ancient country of Hoventia, not in our world that we know. Because there, a blue moon happens every 50 years, which makes it nearly rare. The Amity potion, according to legend, will give pity to the dying, and give him/her a second chance of life.

TRISTAN

So, you are saying…

MARIE-GRACE’s reached for the right section of the round room, and a blinding white door formed. TRISTAN and ABIGAIL cover their eyes with their hands. MARIE-GRACE then looks at them, deadly serious.

MARIE-GRACE

You and Abigail must go to Hoventia, and find the ingredients to make the Amity potion, before it’s too late. Time is of the essence. If you spent what is a day there and come back here, two days would have past. Therefore, you really have have 15 days left, Tristan.

TRISTAN

How will we keep up to make sure we get all the ingredients in time to make it?

MARIE-GRACE made two fists and then cupped her hands, where a liter-sized glass bottle of water-holding a tree branch with leaves at the top half where two more branches are-sprouted.

ABIGAIL

Wow. How did she do that?

TRISTAN

She used to be a magician. That used to bring her a lot of money and she got to tour the world because her tricks are original. But then, people were getting suspicious, and began to sabotage her shows. So, she retired from it.

MARIE-GRACE (warning)

There are fifteen leaves on this branch. When a day in Hoventia passes, one will turn brown, wrinkle, and fall off. Therefore, it will tell you how much time you have left.

ABIGAIL

How is that branch even still alive? For all I know aren’t all the branches supposed to be in one tree to survive?

TRISTAN

That doesn’t matter. At least we have something that will keep us focused on getting the Amity potion.

TRISTAN then realizes something and looks at MARIE-GRACE.

TRISTAN

But, Grandma, why didn’t you let us do this earlier? Why didn’t you tell me?

MARIE-GRACE

Because the blue moon doesn’t come annually. The blue moon in Hoventia comes this year. And the ingredients cannot be stored in Earth for years. The planet would contaminate them, therefore the potion wouldn’t work. And the potion should be made minutes before the blue moon comes, because then, it would give a full recovery from your curse, and other illnesses. If made two years ago, it would have lost its magic by the time the blue moon comes. It will be nothing but a link to food poisoning.

TRISTAN

Then, why didn’t we do this months ago this year?

MARIE-GRACE (driving a point)

You’re not the only one under a terminal case of an illness and you should be aware of that already. There are others who want that potion. Some, not for them or other people to get better, but because it can also give immortality to them. Besides, who do you know there in Hoventia? No, who can you trust?

ABIGAIL

But you know and trust at least someone there in Hoventia. You might have been there before. How else would you have known about it?

MARIE-GRACE

Abigail-
