Today, I go to Google, and find this message, ” Proud Supporters of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.” Curious, I clicked on the blue letters “International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.” and landed in one of the most beautiful and emotion-evoking videos I’ve ever seen. Seriously, a lump in my throat formed while I was watching this video for the first time.
The video is about their fight against the bigotry and discrimination, and violence against LGBT people, sent from the United Nations. And their colorful messages were written on paper, all over the world from United States, to Costa Rica, Thailand, Jamaica, Argentina Russia, India, Japan, etc.

On the girl on the left, she says,” FOR MORE EQUALITY” and the girl, second from the left, her poster shouts, ” FOR A SOCIETY MORE JUST”, which couldn’t be any clearer, no matter what language is spoken.
They were very strong people and they were proud to show their messages across the globe in a video for many people to see. I myself, am moved from the video itself. Especially, in the end, I see Ban Ki-moon, current Secretary-General of the UN state his message as well. ” END VIOLENCE &DISCRIMINATION AGAINST LGBT PEOPLE”. Seeing that alone from the United Nations moved me, an ordinary straight person, to want to support them in their endeavors to stop the violence and discrimination. I didn’t see weird people in the video; I saw fighters.

The video’s in Youtube-you can still watch it. In fact, you can watch it right after you read this post. It’s called “UN Free & Equal: Why We Fight”, and you can click this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi_tGaGyyM8, to see the video for yourself. You can comment either here or Youtube, to share what you think. I’m sure you will be inspired as I am to join their fight song to be treated as equals. I hope that comes someday, if not soon.
